Four sets, and laboratory Chem sets, obligatory Headsets, connecting you to me Weakness surrounded by the Sadness of bitter nihilists Genius is synonymous with madness But don’t you laugh at my table My table laughs at me My table breaks cacophony I’m capable of everything When will you teach us all your Reasons for feeling taller Tell me, how does it feel to shame everyone? Mornings are plagued with bags on Your eyes, the tired nights need Fireflies to put you back to sleep But don’t you dare blame meaning It never hurt your wife You’re playing with fire and burning ice You play god and damn him all the time Fix all the kinks, but you’re fresh out of drinks Your Bailey-flavoured pain Passed out on the deck, you’re all incorrect No stranger to disarray To a mad scientist To a mad scientist To a mad scientist To a mad scientist Find another partner in hopes of feeling lost Is bravery all worth the cost Of feeling like you’re double-crossed?

Capable 05:43
It was just an average night Devin sang his Coldplay right If I’m lost can you find me? You make everything so easy Have I given up my life to you? Have you catalyzed my regression? Still it pains me to say I did miss you Reality is just beyond repression I feel so lost without you You’re so capable, I know it’s true When I woke you were no longer beside me You’re so capable without me I know I will never meet them Still they’re in my REM Vicarious comfort zone How could you leave me all alone? I am not alone in this world I face everyday like a privileged girl To the world you might mean nothing But to someone you may mean the world I felt so lost without you You’re so capable, I know it’s true When I woke you were no longer beside me You’re so capable without me And I’m whining Self deprecation is the short way to an artist’s heart

Bad Egg 06:39
( Rick and Morty/Dog World theme song, used as a quote, originally composed by Ryan Elder and Justin Roiland, published under BMG Rights Management (US) LLC, and used under mechanical license ) Cut it, shred it, think it, I’m on fire Feed it, lead it, need a force for hire Find life in high, and I’ll fly to the sky My life a lie, gotta find heaven’s eye Make a mark, I keep my heart in a drawer I can’t take this ego trip anymore Alright, you win, I’ll face end and begin 5 after 10, and where have you been? Where have you been? They never understood me, I will lock my heart away Then seal the door and take all the money that they can pay And we’re free, I’m free “Bad egg” they called me, let’s see how they greet me at the door They take all they can get but they won’t get me anymore And I’m free, so free Mark it, make it, take it, two halves were cropped He stared at me so long, my heartbeat stopped I’ll do just fine, I’ll be there in the sky My truth so high, but it shines like a lie Like a lie They never understood me, I will lock my heart away Then seal the door and take all the money that they can pay And we’re free, I’m free “Bad egg” they called me, let’s see how they greet me at the door They take all they can get but they won’t get me anymore And I’m free, so free They never understood me, I will lock my heart away Then seal the door and take all the money that they can pay And we’re free, I’m free “Bad egg” they called me, let’s see how they greet me at the door They take all they can get but they won’t get me anymore And I’m free, so free

Me and My 06:14
Pardon me, I will not be pardoned Lord Almighty, my heart has hardened Versions of me depart the departed Oh Forced to create that which I don’t Underestimate, he’ll talk back, he won’t I was just too late, now everything’s my fault Oh But he’ll run that race again Danger’s our new best friend Now I’m alone, me and debauchery Now I’m alone, him and his Scotch and me Now I’m alone, with my debauchery Take another, I’ll force down my art He is your brother in need of a heart Count them together, add them to the death chart Oh But we’ll run that race again Danger’s our new best friend Now I’m alone, me and debauchery Now I’m alone, him and his Scotch and me Now I’m alone, with my debauchery Another world has the joined the story, he says “don’t you dare” He takes my pen from my hand, says “no one else can compare” He’s closing the walls on me, my story can just stand and stare I know it isn’t going anywhere, oh I know it isn’t going anywhere, oh I know it isn’t going anywhere Now I’m alone, me and debauchery Now I’m alone, him and his Scotch and me Now I’m alone, with my debauchery Debauchery Be my translucent guide through the stars Blow my transparent mind Break the doors that block me to your brain I’m not sure I’ll like what I find It’s an addiction, you’re my addiction, it’s an addiction

about

My first EP!

I've been working on this for a couple years, with very liberal grace periods between songs. The tracks are in order of when they were written ("To a Mad Scientist" way back in 2013, "Capable" in 2014, "Bad Egg" in 2015, and "Me and My" most in 2014, the rest in 2016), which should give the album a sort of sequence.

The album's about a lot of things, but the main idea is "comfort in chaos". Chaotic characters who have more of a head on their shoulders than the world they're thrust in, even if their morals are really grey, can seem even more capable and able to "protect" for some odd reason. "Capable" is the oldest recorded track on here, as well as the simplest; I wrote it with the mindset of "very standard pop tune", which I felt captured this theme.

Sidenote: Most of the inspiration for this album came from Amanda Palmer, Muse, and Devin Townsend, while "Bad Egg" especially was inspired by John Vieira's "Self-Fulfilling Prophecy" off his album An Orange Haze of Dawn, which I helped mix and master!
